American Standard and PHCC Educational Foundation Award Scholarships for 2008

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 12, 2008) — American Standard and the PHCC Educational Foundation have announced the names of the four students who will receive prestigious industry scholarships. The awards recognize students enrolled in degree programs who are majoring in subjects directly related to the plumbing and HVACR profession. Funded by American Standard and administered by the PHCC Educational Foundation, the American Standard Scholarship Program is designed to attract the new talent essential to the future of the plumbing and HVACR industry.

The 2008 scholarship recipients are:

  • Christopher Cheever Christopher Cheever of Grantham, N.H., who is enrolled in a business management degree program at Keene State College, Keene, N.H. Christopher was sponsored by PHCC member Mark Cheever of Mark Cheever Plumbing & Heating, Saugus, Mass.
  • Timothy Falkena Timothy Falkena of Hospers, Iowa, who is enrolled in an HVAC degree program at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Sioux City, Iowa. Timothy was sponsored by PHCC member Fred Falkena of Fred’s Plumbing & Heating, Inc., Hospers, Iowa.
  • Cameron Whitaker Cameron Whitaker of Durham, N.C., who is enrolled in the mechanical engineering program at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. Cameron was sponsored by PHCC member David Moore of Hickory Mechanical, Inc., Hickory, N.C.
  • Samuel Whitney Samuel Whitney of Danvers, Mass., who is enrolled in the business administration program at Fordham University, New York, N.Y. Samuel was sponsored by PHCC member Joseph Whitney of North Shore Mechanical Contractors, Topsfield, Mass.
